Shinsekai ("New World") / Tsutenkaku Tower

Tsutenkaku Tower is a symbol of Osaka that stands at the heart of the retro "New World" area, a colorful entertainment district that was built in the early 20th century. Here you can feel a sense of nostalgia, and check out some of the eateries frequented by locals too. We recommend you try kushikatsu (skewers of deep-fried meat and vegetables). Furthermore, Tennoji Zoo and Tennoji Park are both located nearby, meaning that there is plenty to see and do. See if you can find the Billiken statue in Tsutenkaku Tower! [About 20 minutes by train from Hotel Monterey Grasmere Osaka]
